TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

Local chemical additives manufacturer is seeking a Technical Sales Manager with 3+ years experience selling industrial chemicals in the rubber and/or plastics industries. Position would be a blend of inside sales support and direct outside selling. Must have strong technical aptitude and communication skills. Potential for 25% overnight travel.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts
  • Develop positive relationships with clients
  • Generate new business
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers
  • Supervise independent account representatives
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions
  • Set and track sales account targets
  • Monitor sales and suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and implement product strategies
  • Collect and analyze feedback to shape requirements, features and end products
  • Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales, Product Management, or Technical position with strong customer contact involvement
  • Extensive experience with business travel and face-to-face selling
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • BSc/BA in Engineering, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
